January’s Hot Topic - Resolve that Resolutions Rock!
January 1st, 2009

New Year’s Resolutions are always the hottest topic at the beginning of every year. I personally love them. I think it’s because I really make a serious effort to keep them. For me, there is something about a fresh new calendar; it feels like a new beginning. Sure, my husband Keith thinks they are crazy, but that has yet to stop me! By the end of December I have decided what they are, and then I make a plan to get to work. This past year was no exception and I had two pretty great ones. One was to reacquaint myself with the Spanish language that I learned in high school, (Yo tiene tres anos in la escuela) and the other was to make myself memorize people’s names as soon as I meet them! I must say, that although I’m sure I could have done better, I stuck to both of them pretty well, and it feels good to be better in some areas of your life than you were the year before. Believe me, I know the difference; the year before I failed my main one by about the fifth week. It was to find and make a new recipe for dinner every Tuesday night. It didn’t take to long to figure out that this was not happening for the next 11 months, so I dropped it! I thought a few times about the fact that Keith might be right, and that irritated me…so I just resolved to prove him wrong the next year, problem solved!
I did a radio interview this week as was told something by the host that made an impact on me…she said, “I want to live every day until the day I die”! As simple as it sounds, it is really quite profound…to LIVE every day, to really live every day like you might not be here another was her point. As you set out this New Year 2009, think about a few areas of your life you would like to see improvement in. By being here, number one is probably to gain control over your health and fitness- and trust me, by accomplishing this, you will have strength to learn all the languages you want! So go for it!
This year, 2009 could be the best of your life if you want it to — over the past twelve months, I have had the great blessing of being able witness several women change their body, change their mind and change their future. They won’t be ending another year saying, I’m going to try to eat healthy and start exercising, because they have already made it happen — I think this is an awesome way to end a year, and it can happen to you if your are willing — let your resolutions come alive today!
Never Say Diet, Much Love…
Dare to Be Remarkable,
